Volunteer Information

All volunteers are required to register with the Wake County Public School System each school year.

Some volunteer positions require a background check, they are:

Volunteer Tutor-Mentor, Job Shadow-internship, Day Field Trip Chaperone, Club Sponsor, Overnight Field Trip Chaperone, Off Campus Mentoring, and other activities involving direct contact with students under limited supervision of school staff.

Positions that DO NOT require a background check are:

Classroom Assistant, Library/Media Assistant, Athletic or special event volunteer, PTA, Room Parent, Cafeteria, Clerical and reading program.

HOW CAN YOU SIGN UP???
You will need to come in to any Wake County School in order to register. If you want to register at Lynn Road, just come by the Media Center and ask Mrs. O'Gorman, Mrs. Larson, or Ms. Taylor to help get you started. Or you may obtain a form from our guidance counselor at school, to fill out and mail in.
